A brick shrine located next to the path from St. Peter’s to St. Magdalena (Villnöss), erected in commemoration of the plague of 1636. It was built near the old Blosegg farm and has been a protected monument since 2004. Its structure is late Gothic, with a top that features four round-arched niches and a pyramidal shingle roof. There are paintings in the four niches by Johann Baptist Oberkofler depicting the saints Sebastian, Rochus, Katharina, and Florian. Restored in 2003, this wayside shrine is to be preserved “as a testament to rural religious folk art,” according to a resolution by the provincial government. It was considered a field marker for the people of St. Magdalena, who were forbidden to go to the church of St. Peter’s, so afraid were they of the plague at that time.
