In relation to asking for permission and living with the forest, Pga K’Nyaw have this saying: Aw Kaw, Kaw Doh Kaw; Aw Tee, Kaw Doh Tee. It means “eat from the forest, protect the forest, drink water, preserve water.”

When we take from the land, we must also protect the land; when we take water, we must also protect the water.
