Les croyances Vodun disposent de toute une panoplie de divinités qui servent de vecteurs entre la divinité suprême et les humains. De ce fait, il y autant de temples que de divinités Vodun. « Ce sont des espaces consacrés où les fidèles se réunissent pour honorer les Vodun, effectuer des rituels et participer à des cérémonies spirituelles » (République du Bénin, 11). Ce sont des lieux de cohésion sociale où les fidèles des Vodun respectifs se retrouvent afin de pratiquer leur culte. Parmi les multiples temples Vodun qui existent au Bénin, on peut citer le Temple des Pythons à Ouidah et le Temple Sakpata à Zoungbodji.

Vodun belief contains a whole panoply of deities who serve as vectors between the supreme divinity and humankind. As a result, there are as many temples as there are Vodun deities. “These are consecrated spaces where the faithful gather to honor the Vodun, perform rituals and take part in spiritual ceremonies” (République du Bénin, 11). They are places of social cohesion where the faithful of the relevant Vodun meet to worship. Among the many Vodun temples in Benin are the Temple of the Pythons in Ouidah and the Temple Sakpata in Zoungbodji.
