Le Vodun Kokou est pratiqué dans la région du Mono au Bénin, principalement dans les villes de Grand-Popo, Comè, Bopa, Possotomè, et Houéyogbé. Ses fidèles, appelé-e-s Kokoussi, se distinguent particulièrement des autres fidèles par leur force et vivacité, avec des démonstrations très athlétiques. Ces fidèles sont reconnu-e-s par leur habillement notamment marqué par la jupe de raphia, avlaya en fɔ̀ngbè. Iels sont également identifiables par leur comportement quand iels rentrent en transe. Dans ce cas, ils entaillent la peau avec un couteau ou une machette, laissant des cicatrices.

Its followers, known as Kokoussi, distinguish themselves from the rest of the faithful by their strength and vivacity, and with extraordinary athletic demonstrations. These devotees are recognisable by their clothing, particularly the raffia skirt, called avlaya in Fɔ̀ngbè.
