La fonction de conservation n’est que l’une de ses caractéristiques, car elle opère également comme banque de micro-crédit et centre de formation. Par sa fonction de musée, elle acquiert et expose les biens que la communauté considère comme faisant partie de son patrimoine. Ensuite, la banque de micro-crédit en son sein alloue des prêts aux membres de la communauté en échange d’objets et/ou d’informations à leur sujet. Enfin, elle octroie des prêts aux adhérent-e-s, favorisant ainsi le développement des activités génératrices de revenus.
