Description

Diaspora is the place where one goes to look for a better live, enrich oneself, and grow. Upon reaching self-actualization—that is, the ability to sustain oneself financially—one is able to help the family that they have left behind in their countries of origin by sending money back. Though many in the diaspora integrate into the new society, they also keep the culture of their home country, because it defines who they are, it is their identity.

La diaspora est un groupe de personnes qui quittent leur pays d’origine pour un autre pays, mais qui, une fois intégrées dans leur pays d’accueil, restent proches de la culture de leur pays d’origine et la pratiquent dans le pays où elles résident actuellement. Ils célèbrent les fêtes et cérémonies nationales de leur pays d’origine, et essaient de retrouver leurs communautés afin de rester en contact étroit pour parler de leur culture et se souvenir des bons moments pour essayer de préserver cette culture et langue. Néanmoins, les personnes qui partent à l’étranger et oublient leur pays d’origine sont parfois ostracisées de la communauté diasporique.
